My Faith Testimony

Its funny what a difference a year can make in twelve months. I didn’t know that a year from now I was going to be a transferred student at Florida Atlantic University and be engaged. Last year on September 15, 2017 was my last year as being a student at Florida A&M University. I know you are thinking well why did you transfer? To be honest I wasn’t happy being away at that school for the past three years. As summer 2017 went by it felt like nothing was here for me at the school anymore. It felt like I was just there for a season and my work was done. I understand as Christians we faced trails and tribulations in life so that God can make us stronger and have patience. Gish! When will these trails end? I was going through a tough season mainly through out my school year. From having roommate issues that I stated in my previous blog and being removed from my education courses. I didn’t have peace at all. I couldn’t take it anymore until I cried out to God one night in my apartment room.

On September 9, 2017 which is actually my birthday I woke up in the middle of the night and I vented to God. I told him the truth of what was on my heart, which he already knows. He probably was just waiting for me to speak to him about my problems. I remember ending my prayer off as “Jesus what is your will you have for my life?” Then I went backed to sleep and I had a dream. I was home in my apartment and I walked inside  a room with my old college roommates. One of the girls asked me to come here and she said to my other roomates “Well are you going to ask her?” I’m staring at all three of them wondering what do you want to ask me. One of my roomates asked me “What are you doing here?” “You don’t fit in with us?” Can I be honest everything she said was so true. I truly did not fit in with those girls at all. I’m asking God is this you speaking through her? The next scene in the dream I was on the phone with my mother and I told her what my roomates had said. She stated well if you’re not happy being there maybe you should come back home. I’m like what, I put so much work of getting here. I just want peace and happiness. A few days later I spoke by faith that this will be my last year being at this school. A few weeks later I packed my belongs and I moved into another dorm.

Through out the Fall semester of 2017 I was being tested from every direction. I was still fasting and praying so, that I can definitely hear from God that this is his will. So many things was happening as the semester ended. I recently got engaged and I was receiving the proper steps to transfer schools. In January 2018 I applied to FAU and mid February I got accepted. I’m kept telling myself “Have faith and good deeds God has everything under control.” He sent a few christians friends in my life to encourage and pray with me for my faith move. Here I am a year later all of my credits and scholarships were able to transfer over except one class. Even though I have more responsibilities to take care of I’m happy and I have peace by the grace of God. Brothers and sisters if God is telling you to do something please be obedient to him. The other side of obedience is so beautiful and amazing. I hope my faith testimony encourage you and God bless.

Encouraging scriptures:

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,
knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.
James 1:2-3
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
James 1:5
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11

Pruning Season

When I woke up this morning I did not feel like getting out of bed. My body has been tired from working six days a week with my two jobs. I just wanted to sleep all day today. I had to stop myself from those thoughts and put my big girl pants on and do what I had to do today. I started with my morning devotional afterwards ate breakfast, than for last I exercised before work. That was my huge accomplishment for me to do actually do that. As this summer continues my goal is to exercise every day except my rest day.

On top of my goals I’m going through a pruning season. It hurt spiritually but, it will be so worth it at the end. My job includes me working with children at a summer camp. The children are behaved. You know how it goes with working with different co workers with different personalities. I have been getting out of my comfort zone by God definitely planting the fruits of the spirits within me. As love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Yes those are the fruits of the spirits as a real christian. Its like God is removing layers in humbleness, no nagging, taming my tongue, being a good servant and stop being lazy. Yup! A lot of growing to developed in. If you’re going through a pruning season don’t give up it will so worth it, don’t give up.

God bless!

You’re More Than Conquerors

Have you ever read the story of David and Goliath in the book of 1 Samuel? I encourage you to read it, it’s an an amazing story. The story begins with the Philistines gathering their armies together to battle against Saul and the men of Israel. Prior a righteous man by the name Samuel was sent by God to anoint Saul as new king over his people of Israel. The elders didn’t want Samuel as king any more because of him becoming of age. Also, nor did they want his sons to become king either because they did not walk in his ways. Can you imagine being a boss or a CEO and the people around you rejected you?  Saying all kinds of mean words, to your face just like how they treated Samuel. Don’t belittle yourself once they reject you they reject God. Lets continue with the story Continue reading

Do you have faith?

Before I start I will like for you to answer this questions silently to yourself that are listed below:

  • Do you have faith as the size of a mustard seed?
  • Do you truly walk by faith and not by sight?
  • Do you truly confessed in your heart that all God promises will happen in his perfect timing?

If your answers are yes or no or maybe that’s okay don’t beat yourself up. Hopefully this post will encourage your faith, so lets begin.

As I was reading the book of Genesis chapter 22 in the bible. I have learned that God told Abraham to take his one and only son, Issac to the land of Moriah and offered him there as a burnt offering. You are probably thinking to yourself why would God tell Abraham to kill his son? Well, God tested Abraham to see if he was going to be obedient. Truth be told Abraham passed the test.  As I continued to read what stood out to me was the verses 10-12 which is listed below.

10″And Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.”
11″ But the Angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” So he said, “Here I am.”
12″ And He said, “Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me”.
New King James Version.
God saw Abraham as a God-fearing man because he didn’t withhold his son from him. Then God bless Abraham and his descendants. Ask yourself this question do you fear God? If God told you to move to a different state and leave everything behind will you do it? Those are some tough questions to answer and being a true christian/disciple includes trusting God. Even when things seems to be going crazy and not making sense. We still have to trust him over man. We definitely don’t want to be disobedient to God and instead lean on our own understanding. Trust me you do not want go down that road. Even our own emotions can lead, to consequences just because we feel like moving doesn’t mean we can just get up and move. If that’s not God will then don’t do it. We must trust God and pray without ceasing. I encourage  you to read Genesis chapter 22 and mediate on it. I’m going to leave some scriptures listed below relating to faith. I hope this post was helpful until than God bless.
  • Habakkuk 2:4

“Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith.”

  • Matthew 6:30

“Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith.”

  • Matthew 9:2

“Then behold, they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.”

A closer walk with God

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, lay, ‘Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?” “And then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers.!’
Matthew 7:21-23
Wow reading those scriptures just gave me chills. Can you imagine on judgment day or when ever its your last day on this earth that you didn’t even make it home as in heaven. As we know we are living in the last days and Jesus Christ is coming soon. Will you be ready? We will all have to be bow down to God when he comes, it don’t matter our religion or race. Over the past years the Lord has been revealing the signs of the end times, specially last year. Paris attack, Oregon State University shooting, the last blood moon etc. Everything in the bible is being fulfilled right now before our very own eyes. Its time for you to stop playing the lukewarm christian role and be completed devoted to God. Are you ready to embrace him? Are you saved? He’s standing there with his arms wide open waiting for you. Once we leave this earth you are either going to heaven or hell. Repent and confess your sins to God and he will forgive you (Acts 3:19.) If you are ready I will show you the steps on how to get closer to God.
1. Pray with out ceasing
Its very important for us to pray every day. In the morning when you wake up, pray and through out the day continue to pray and at night before you go to bed. Prayer is communication with God. If you want to grow in God, then you can no longer settle for giving him second or third or fourth place. Make friendship with God your first priority.
2. Read your Bible
We must read our bible and continue reading it. You can start in the New Testament and read Matthew. Have a journal with you so that you can write down scriptures as your reading. Get to know God and his commandments don’t just know them, but also obey them. God uses his spirit to his word to accomplish his purposes in you and through you to have an impact on the world. We all have a purpose on this earth to give God glory. Yes, I do agree the Bible is not easy to read at times. The passages are difficult to understand but do not let that discourage you. If you are committed to learning more about God and the story he’s given us in the Bible it will guide you change you and keep you close to him.
3. Go to Church
Just because a person goes to church doesn’t mean they will enter the kingdom of heaven. Satan goes to church to. I advise you to pray and ask God to lead you to a church where the pastor is speaking the true word of God. There are a lot of false prophets in this world and they are in sheep clothing (Matthew 7:15) You see that’s why to important for us to know the bible so that you can recognize the pastor from his fruit rather its good or bad.
4. Get Involved in christian organizations
As you’re getting closer to Jesus its important to surround yourself around like minded people who are devoted to God. Moreover, the bible states “Bad company corrupts good character.” 1 Corinthians 15:33. You are probably thinking where am I going to find these people? You can join  different groups at church in your local area. Also Heather Lindsey and her husband Cornelius both sponsor a christian organization for women and men. Pinky Promise and Men Cave. Pinky promise is an nation wide organization for women who  are truly devoted in seeking and honoring God with their body. Men cave is the same perspective but just with men. I added the website links at the bottom.
5. Gospel Music
The world we live in is so full of lust and sin. The music they play on the radio in this generation is beyond sad. Be careful of what you listen to cause certain songs can start planting a seed in your heart where Satan can take advantage of. For instance I don’t listen to love songs because that will cause a seed to plant in my heart. When I get married one day to my husband then  I will listen to love songs. HA HA!! Also be careful of what you watch on television.  Stop listening to music and watching that garbage on television that speaks about sex, lust and profanity. Instead listen to gospel music such as Smokie Norful and Marvin Sapp. Turn that gospel music up and start dancing and praising to God. He is good all the time!!
If you have not receive Jesus Christ as your Savior after reading this would you say this prayer out loud with me:
Father, I ask you to search our hearts forgive us for every wrong we have done and cleanse us from every secret sin. Free us from every distraction, ungodly relationship and hindering spirit that stopping us from getting closer to you. I pray that we can continue to be set apart and be completely devoted to you Lord. In Jesus name, Amen!!

Its Just The Beginning!
